M5 shoulders for experienced cyclists and not recommended in peak traffic times.
Cycleway path through Beatty Reserve, Georges Hall has no signs - rough, tree-uplifted narrow bitumen path. Stick to Henry Lawson Drive if traffic light !
Dunc Gray Velodrome Bass Hill to Silverwater Bridge via quiet backstreets and cycleways following the Duck River from its source in Yagoona West.
Via Regents Park, Clyde, M4 cycleway, Olympic Park, and Newington Armory.
Some light traffic roads, but generally suitable for less experienced riders.
Uses cycleway beside Duck River from Wellington Road. Continuing on Chisholm Rd to Mona St is quicker but more traffic. Railway overbridge ramp at Clyde Station is 5% gradient - newby riders might rather walk it.
Dunc Gray Velodrome Bass Hill to Randwick Plaza via M5 shoulders, Slade Road (Bardwell Valley), Turrella, Arncliffe, Sydney International Airport, Mascot, Kensington and UNSW.
Heavy traffic. M5 shoulders not recommended in peak hours - see OSM Cycleway map for safer off-motorway cycleways alongside M5 from Riverwood.
Excellent fruit shop and even better fruit salad bar awaits you at the end of this ride. And a number of coffee shops plus good food and fast food outlets.
Uses off-road shared cycle paths entirely. Includes diversion to Wetherill Park McDonalds McCafe for morning coffee. Hills at Lansdowne are steep (>10%) but short. Hills froom Abbotsbury to Prospect Dam are steep and longer - difficult for unfit riders. Otherwise mostly flat.
Note that Prospect Canal Cycleway is blocked for construction work just east of Prospect Dam until Oct 2009 (and probably later)

Off-road cycleway paths from Dunc Gray Velodrome to Prospect Canal Dam entrance via Landsdowne, Liverpool Rail Trail and Prospect Canal Cycleway.
During Dam opening hours, it's possible to go further through the Dam grounds to the Western Sydney Park lands and M7.
Suitable for children. Hills at Flinders Slope might challenge a beginner.
Off-road route from Dunc Gray Velodrome Bass Hill to Sydney Olympic Park and Rhodes via Georges Hall, and Liverpool Rail Trail. Very suitable for children and beginners.
Gate into Newington Armory is open only on weekends and school hols. At other times, continue on Louise Savage Pathway to the River.
Prospect Dam picnic area to Dunc Gray Velodrom, with detour to Prariewood McDonalds.
