Routes in Canada / Quebec / Beaconsfield
Sydney to the Gong is a charity event held each year in early November. Rides from Sydney to Wollongong and is about 90km.
In 2008 about 17,000 people rode it at all levels from serious to those that take all day to do it.
Drop-off near M40 - cycling along mainly lanes and quiet roads through Marlow, the Chilterns (some climbing) and through back roads in Oxford to Iffley Turn.
An alternative way to reach downtown from the West Island as opposed to using Lakeshore/Lachine canal OR boul Gouin.
Roads are in good condition.
Passage along the summit circle is not necessary but makes a nice trip with a view of the city's sky line.
Rode the 36.6km (on computer) in 1hr23min including hills and strong head winds.
