BVCC St. Malo to Paris April 2008, this is a great route taking in the Landing beaches of Normandy, you can see 5 stages with comments

  • NOTE On upload the route has been reduced in data points. This means that in built up areas there are straight lines and the track does not follow streets exactly- use care.
  • This is road with some cycle paths. All rideable on road bike.
  • Some passenger ferries - but fien with bikes
  • Spanish scetion has heavier traffic with less alterntives; the Spanish section also has a few climbs after Bilboa.
  • Uses ferry into Santander to miss industrial part. The route through Bibao could be improved.

If coming from the UK, Ferries run to/from St Malo and Caen from Portsmouth giving the opportunity of a nice 3 day circular ride.

We came on the o/night ferry and cycled to Granville on day 1. Day 2 was across to Bayeaux, home of the famous Tapestry, and day 3 following the Normandy beaches to Caen ferry port, then home on the o/night ferry again.

Obviously plenty of opportunities to extend or shorten
