Routes in Deutschland / Baden-Württemberg / Auggen

Schöne Runde von Auggen nach Seefelden, über Betberg ins Hinterlandzurück nach Müllheim.

Dann über Vögisheim hoch und zurück nach Auggen.

Viel Spaß

Very flat and suitable for fitness or tour - don't go when school is getting out or kids will overtake you on their school-bikes rushing home to do their homework...

Heitersheim is "well appointed" with shops, bars, cafes and ,even, a bike shop!

Don't forget you have to ride back to Auggen - or get the train (bikes are free on this line).

Total distance (return) = 15.27 miles (24.57 kilometres).

My best time: 0:59:33 01.07.10 on Scott road bike

More than a saunter... the climb into Bamlach tests your fitness but there is a nice stretch of downhill after that.

You can opt out of the Bamlach/Rheinweiler section by turning right at the end of Rheinstrasse and right again onto Umgehungstrasse. The next right takes you back into Bad Bellingen where there is much to see, eat and drink.

My best time: 0:55:55 11.06.05 on Holdsworth road bike

This route takes you off-road but should be suitable for most bikes.

As you ride past the Baggersee at Steinenstadt, on your left is the “Village With No Name” – a very private community…

Riding along the Rhine path is a pleasure and when you get to Neuenburg there is plenty opportunity for refreshment.

The ride back through Richtberg is rather eerie – you will feel like a time traveller… all the people who live there – work there!

My best time: 1:10:57 29.06.08 on Marin mountain bike.

Good short training circuit. I am testing my stamina but took it easy on the first attempt 5 July 2010 (time: 1:21:15). Not bad for a sixty year old teenager... I will post my future best times below:

19.07.10 - 1:20:26 on Scott road bike.

Nice circuit into France with good cycle paths as far as Rumersheim. If you are happy to ride on gravel turn left at the D52 junction then right onto the canal path, thus avoiding the traffic on the main road. The border is open but don't forget your passport, just in case there is a temporary control.

My best time: 1:11:13 25.08.10 on Scott road bike.
