Starting from Vera, the route is fairly flat for the first 12km and then there is a climb of 8km to the top of the mountain.  After the first 2km of the climb there are some interesting old mining buildings.  At the top of the climb is an option to go to the aerial masts at the summit.  From the top of the hill to the bar at Los Lobos is 24km almost entirely downhill.

Starting at Vera, the route heads out towards Los Gallardos and at Perulaca it joins the route of the old silvermines train route which used to transport silver ore from the mines above Bedar down to the sea at Garrucha.  There is a broken bridge which you have to go around.  On the approach to Serena there is a 300metre tunnel which you can cycle through.  At Serena there is a spring to top up your water bottle, and then its on to Bedar.  The return route passes near to the extinct volcano, Cabezo de Maria.

Starting from Vera it is possible to cycle to the Pencil Factory (Yedesa) almost without going on any roads.  There is a 10km gragual road climb before the descent past Casa Ana-Isabel to Ballabona.  There are just 2 junctions at which you turn right.  There is an optional extra loop with a short but tricky technical descent before finishing at Cuevas del Almanzora.  Bar Las Tapas or Bar Pepe are recommended.

Ruta para ir soltando piernas, distancia intermedia y bastante suave. Con parada en el Cuartel de Villaricos y tomar algo de comer en mitad de la ruta.

Subida al embalse de Cuevas del Almanzora y Vuelta a Vera

La "ruta de las rutas" en el Bajo Almanzora, Salida desde Vera hacia Turre por el camino viejo hacia Las Alparatas (tierra), llegada a Turre y comenzamos a subir a través la ruta Trans-Cabrera, subidas duras donde las haya para atravesar toda la Sierra en dirección Sopalmo, pasando por las Barriadas de la Carrasca (con ultima subida al Pueblo con una "pala" espectacular), Los Moralicos y La Adelfa (caminos sin asfaltar). Vistas extraordinarias de toda la Costa desde Villaricos hasta Agua Amarga en todo lo alto de barriada de La Adelfa. Desde ahí comenzamos a bajar hacia Sopalmo (pista de tierra con curvas sinuosas), donde recuperamos la carretera de la costa (asfaltada) con dirección hacia el punto de partida pasando por la Playas de Mojácar y Garrucha.
