Ride around Southern Phuket including one loop around Ban Wad Reservoir. On the way down South stay alongside the West Coast.
Even though you have some section with little traffic, better do the ride early morning to avoid the worst on Chaofah Road and around Patong Beach.
While most parts of the ride are flat, there are several short and partly steep climbs, especially when hopping from Beach to Beach.
Detailed Route:
Start @ Ban Saiyuan, Rawai - Hayaek Chalong - Honda - Muang  Chaofah Rd - Kathu - Royal Phuket Country Club - Ban Wad Reservoir (1 Lap) - Kathu - Loch Palm Golf Course - British School Loop - Monument - Nong Bang Cho Loop - Surin - Kamala - Patong - Karon - Kata - Karon View Point - Saiyuan, Mathaba Breakfast Place

Reach a state beyond suffering when climbing almost all 15-25% super steep climbs of South Phuket!

Start rolling from Saiyuan to Chalong Roundabout first, take second Big Buddha Road and fight your way up the first steep ramps. After having gained about 150 of a total 350 m climb the worst part is done. After your meditation at the impressive 42-meter-high Buddha, go back down to Chaofah Road. Then head towards Phuket town, take a right turn at the red light near Phuket Software Park. Go right on Sak Di Det Road.

After a few kilometers turn right for the second task:  the climb up to Khaokhat View Point from the North. Go down to the second road, turn left at an intersection and do three more decent climbs. On the way around Cape Khaokhat conquer a few more ramps.

Then return to Chaofah East Road and go to Chalong Roundabout and then on Viset Road on to Rawai Beach. Go to Cape Promthep, Ao Nui, the last climb of the day to the wind wheel and then down to the Naiharn Laguna. After one loop return to Ban Saiyuan.

Completed my first 100.000 kms since I "converted" to cycling in mid 2003!

Start at Saiyuan - then go to: Chalong Roundabout - follow Chaofah East towards Phuket town to Vichit - turn right at red light where Phuket Aquarium is indicated - take second exit at small roundabout and go to - Cape Khaokhat and get some nice views over Chalong Bay - come back on the main road from Cape Panwa (Phuket Aquarium) - go back same way on Chaofah East ot Chalong roundabout - take Viset Road all the way to Rawai Beach - go to Cape Promthep, considered being the westernmost point of Thailand. As you can see that's not really true as the second cape up is actually further West - then do the last short and steep climb to the windmill - after the following descent you reach Naiharn Laguna - do one round counterclockwise - then go back to Ban Saiyuan

Not really for the ones that look for a scenic ride. Just set out from Rawai and stay on the main road - mostly highway - to Chalong Roundabout, Central Festival, Bypass Road, Heroines' Monument, Thalang, and follow the highway North all the way to Phuket checkpost. Do a U-Turn there and back the same way.

Probably not many to share my pleasure in taking this ride, but it is still good to do some decent speedtraining.

Usually you would find some trucks, that are ideal to hang in behind: loaded trucks, so they are slow, with trailer, so you don't get the exhaust fumes. Once you jump in behind it and stick just behind his left rear wheel, you will probably be fine. From Thalang to the Checkpoint - and obviously on the way back - you may enjoy some rolling hills. You will be amazed how good the suction is behind the trucks and how fast you can go.

But as I said, only for aficionados...
