LEJOG Day 3 (15 day route) - Exeter to Yatton

A quite mainly paved country route away from tourist traffic using mainly lanes and minor roads including the Taunton - Bridgewater canal towpath. A lot flatter than the first 2 days as now in the Somerset levels.

One of my favourite rides. The route has been modified over a number of years to how it is now that avoids busy roads. Its a fabulous ride through superb scenary, lovely on a summers evening.

There are still a few climbs but the route back from the Teign Valley to Exeter has been chosen as one of the more pleasent routes up Haldon.

OXLEJOG Day 3 (15 day route) - Exeter to Cheddar

A quite mainly paved country route away from tourist traffic using mainly lanes and minor roads including the Taunton - Bridgewater canal towpath. A lot flatter than the first 2 days as now in the Somerset levels.

A cracking ride. Predominantly the first part to Dawlish is fairly flat, then the hills begin as you climb through Ashcombe on to Haldon Hill you are treated to incredibly scenic and quiet lanes with stunning views especially as you traverse the top of Haldon past Belvedere Tower. Catch this on a summer's evening and with luck you'll be treated to a fantastic sunset

Takes the old A30 up to Whiddon Down then picks its way along the lanes to Chagford and onward to Fernworthy car park/picnic site. Then its on to Moretonhampstead and back via the 3 Reservoirs and taking my favoured route over Haldon to Exeter.

Some fabulous views along the way and most of the route is along relatively traffic free roads.
