70th St E should have a bike path next to the road.  Blaine has a shoulder on the road but use caution in busy intersections.

Oakdale will have a nice downhill into downtown St. Paul but it will be a long climb coming out of the city (unfortunately the nature of the bluffs in the area).  Another option would be to stay on Concord St (Cesar Chavez St) and then turn onto Butler on the way back.

To get back onto Wabasha, can go south on Cedar to Kellogg and turn right.

Path runs alongside 80th St E, Pilot Knob  & 70th/Lone Oak Rd.
