Route LEJOG Day 2 - Fowey YH - Exeter  

That sounds like a nice route. A very pleasant but demanding alternative is Tavistock, over central Dartmoor via Princetown using lovely open roads, then on to Crediton and Tiverton using narrow lanes with high hedges.

That is a splendid route if you are up for the climb on to the Dartmoor plateau. Our route gives you an alternative. Living on dartmoors doorstep i am fortunate in that i can cycle across it when i like.:-)
