Würzburg City & District Bike Network

Ride a mix of Main river paths, vineyard climbs, and quiet village lanes across Würzburg and the surrounding district. Most routes are paved, with some gravel farm tracks and a bit of cobbles in historic centers—great for touring bikes or e-bikes; 35–40 mm tires make it comfy.

Highlights include the UNESCO-listed Würzburg Residence, the Marienberg Fortress skyline, Veitshöchheim’s Rokokogarten, and wine villages like Randersacker, Sommerhausen, and Ochsenfurt. The network links town-to-town and into the city, so you can string together short after-work loops or go big on day rides. There are plenty of train stations along the Main if you want an easy one-way return.

Wayfinding can vary, so follow local Radnetz signs and keep a map handy. Expect a few short but punchy climbs when you leave the river for the vines, plus occasional crossings of busier roads. Cafés, bakeries, and wine taverns pop up often—this is Franconia, after all.
