Broadstone to Netley (Southampton) via Hythe Ferry

This is one of my favourite routes to Southampton. It's also the safest.
Without doubt it uses the best route through the "southern" aspect of the New Forest that is remarkably traffic free all year. Once you have traversed the New Forest, as a bonus, you'll get to see all the comings and goings of the passenger "cruise" ships (human cargo) market at very close hand when you use the Hythe Ferry to cross from Hythe to Southampton Quay (worth the ride just for this ferry trip!) - subtract the crossing (miles/Km) from the total.
Once you cross the Itchen Bridge, in Southampton, you'll then use the sealed cycle path that runs from Woolston to Weston Shore.
