Über diese Route

My preferred route from my Ottawa neighbourhood to Montreal, using mostly bike-friendly roads and paths. It uses about 18kms of the Prescott-Russell Trail which is decent packed gravel to avoid fairly busy county roads that currently have no shoulders. I usually stop for pizza in Bourget and a beer at Beau's in Vankleek Hill. There's a cheap motel in Rigaud to make this a one-and-a-half day jouney. This route ends at Concordia University's Grey Nuns residence which is open for accomodations during the summer months. For the return home I sometimes take the early morning train to Vaudreuil, which cuts out 40 kms of riding through Montreal's suburban sprawl.
