Versailles Grand Canal

A must-do ride around the famous Grand Canal. You can start either at the car park just in front of the Palace or approach it from Avenue de Paris for a grander view.

I suggest you start at the Allee des Matelots entrance and exit via Boulevard de la Reine (it has an automated barrier so you can get out easily without having to pass through the guard huts). 

Be prepared for frequent slow downs and zig-zagging what with walkers tending to take up all the width of the road and children emerging into your path unexpectedly.

Finally, this is not a ride for a road bike. The path is well worn out and muddy when wet. Potholes are abound as are fallen branches and twigs.
