I'm a college student at IUS and a bike courier in Louisville, KY. I spend a lot of time on my bike in Louisville and Southern Indiana, though I don't necessarily log all my trips (logging my couriering runs is a little obsessive even for my tastes :D).

My primary ride is a 1994 Specialized Allez Pro. At the moment I'm running a 12-23 Shimano 105 7-speed setup with downtube shifters. At around 22 pounds, the Allez is light, fast, and an absolutely delightful ride. When I first bought it, I assumed I'd keep riding my hybrid as a commuter and save the Allez for longer-distance rides, but it turns out I really can't resist the charms of the road bike.

My hybrid, which (for the moment) doubles as my 'cross bike, is a GT Legacy -- chromoly with Shimano mountain bike bits. It has really nice tires -- Panaracer Cross Blasters, about which I really can't speak highly enough. I also have an aluminum and carbon frame -- a Christmas present that I'm planning to build up once I get all the bits for it. It's probably going to get an 8-speed 2300 drive train, since that's probably what I'll manage to afford.

Later in 2011, I hope to lay hands on a purpose-built 'cross bike. If I do manage to secure one, I may finally sell my hybrid, because I basically never ride it anymore. That being said, it may remain in the stable in its current capacity as 'guest bike.'
