Überlingen–Krauchenwies Cycle Route

From the Lake Constance shore in Überlingen up into the Linzgau and over to Krauchenwies, this one links quiet country roads and farm tracks with a few gravel stretches. It’s part of Baden‑Württemberg’s RadNETZ, so wayfinding is generally solid and traffic is light. Expect rolling terrain with around 370 m of climbing—nothing extreme, but it’s not flat either.

Surfaces are mixed: lots of asphalt and paved lanes, plus sections of gravel and loose gravel. A trekking or gravel bike is ideal; road bikes can get through with a bit of care. Busy-road bits are short.

Highlights: lake views as you leave Überlingen, orchards and fields across the Linzgau plateau, and the lakes around Krauchenwies (Seenplatte) not far from the Danube. It’s a great day link from Bodensee into Upper Danube country.

Ride it either way; starting by the lake gives you a steady climb first. Services pop up in villages along the way, but pack water and a snack just in case.
