Cycling day trip from Stege to Store Heddinge

This ride takes you from the charming island town of Stege, on Møn, all the way up to Store Heddinge on the Stevns Peninsula—close to 97 km of scenic Danish countryside! Stege is known for its medieval town center and the old fortress moat, so it’s a fun spot to start your ride (make sure to grab a pastry before you go!).

The route is mostly on paved and quiet roads, giving you a peaceful journey through rolling farmland, small villages, and coastal stretches. You’ll get a good workout, with about 430 meters of climbing, but nothing too steep. You’ll be on cycleways for about a quarter of the time, making it a pretty relaxing trip.

Finishing in Store Heddinge, you’ll find the town’s pretty square and maybe even visit the Stevns Klint cliffs—a UNESCO World Heritage site just nearby. It’s a great well-rounded ride: historic towns, lovely nature, and plenty of authentic Danish countryside vibes. Don’t forget your camera!
