By bicycle from Kensington to Hammersmith

Hop on your bike in stylish Kensington, famed for its beautiful Victorian architecture and green spaces like Kensington Gardens. As you set off toward Hammersmith, you’ll enjoy a mostly gentle ride—there’s hardly any climbing, and you’ll be cruising a comfortable 5 km on mainly quiet paved roads.

You’ll pass leafy streets, local cafes, and maybe even spot a few swans paddling in the Serpentine if you start near Hyde Park. The ride is mostly on quiet roads with very little traffic, making it friendly for all levels. As you make your way west, you’ll gradually descend, so it’s a pretty easy-going ride all the way to Hammersmith.

Hammersmith itself is a lively spot on the Thames with riverside pubs, live music venues, and access to the Thames Path if you’re in the mood for a longer adventure.
