By bicycle from Geneva to Carouge

Hop on your bike for a relaxed ride from the heart of Geneva down to Carouge! This short 3.3-km route is mostly on quiet roads and living streets, with a sprinkling of cycleways, so it’s beginner-friendly and perfect for a leisurely afternoon spin. You’ll start amongst Geneva’s grand lakeside boulevards and cosmopolitan bustle, then gradually find yourself in the artsy charm of Carouge—a district famous for its Mediterranean vibe, colorful boutiques, and lively cafés.

With barely 16 meters of climb and twice as much descent, you’re mostly cruising downhill. Most of the route is smooth asphalt, but you’ll catch a hint of old Geneva on some cobblestones near the end. Don’t rush—Carouge’s bohemian squares and artisan shops are ideal for a post-ride coffee or gelato!
