By bicycle from Basel to Münchenstein

This route takes you from the vibrant city of Basel, right at the tri-border of Switzerland, France, and Germany, down to the charming suburb of Münchenstein. You’ll cover just under 10 km, mostly on quiet roads—perfect for a laidback ride. It’s a gentle journey with a few short climbs, so expect a bit of ascent (about 130 meters) to keep things interesting, but nothing too intense for most cyclists.

Starting in Basel, you’ll get a glimpse of Rhine-side architecture and a bit of urban energy before heading southwards. Most of the route is paved or asphalt, but you'll want to be mindful there are small sections where the surface quality isn’t detailed—just keep an eye out!

Münchenstein is known for its impressive “Dreispitz” district and beautiful green spaces, making it a lovely finish to your ride. Great for a quick morning escape or a relaxed evening cruise out of the city hustle!
