By bicycle from Bromma to Årsta

This scenic bike ride takes you from Bromma, a leafy western district famous for its airport and cozy neighborhoods, to Årsta, a charming suburb just south of central Stockholm. The route is just under 12 km long and mostly sticks to dedicated cycleways, so you can enjoy a relaxed and safe journey without much traffic.

You’ll start pedaling in Bromma’s peaceful residential streets, great for a gentle warm-up. Soon, you’ll be gliding past parks and along smooth asphalt paths—Stockholm's bike infrastructure really shines here. There's a bit of climbing involved (about 143 meters in total ascent), but nothing too daunting.

As you get closer to Årsta, you’ll notice the scenery shift to leafy boulevards and perhaps catch a glimpse of Årstaviken, a scenic waterway popular among locals. Once in Årsta, don’t miss the charming Årsta torg square, well-known for its mid-century architecture and lively cafés.
