By bicycle from Vaassen to Apeldoorn

This relaxed route takes you from the charming village of Vaassen down to the lively city of Apeldoorn. Covering just over 10 km, it’s mostly on smooth, paved cycleways—perfect for a breezy ride without much traffic. Vaassen is known for its lovely Cannenburch Castle, nestled among forests and parks. As you pedal south, you’ll cruise past open fields and wooded areas, enjoying wide paths almost all the way.

There’s a gentle descent as you get closer to Apeldoorn, with very minimal uphill sections—nothing that’ll get you sweating! Apeldoorn itself is famous for its royal palace, Het Loo, and sits at the edge of the beautiful Veluwe nature reserve. With nearly the entire ride taking place on separate cycle paths, it’s a safe and scenic choice whether you’re a local or just passing through. Pack a snack, enjoy the Dutch countryside, and roll right into the city center for a coffee or some sightseeing.
