By bicycle from Scheveningen to Voorburg

This relaxed ride takes you from the lively seaside district of Scheveningen to the historic heart of Voorburg—it’s just under 9 km, perfect for a leisurely afternoon spin. Start at Scheveningen, known for its wide beach, buzzing boulevard, and that iconic pier (don’t forget to grab a quick look at the North Sea!). You’ll set off mostly along dedicated cycleways, with almost the entire route on smooth pavement or asphalt—easy going for any type of bike.

You’ll wind your way south and slightly inland, passing through the green city edges of The Hague, with only gentle ups and downs: nothing too challenging here. Before you know it, you’re cruising into Voorburg, a town with Roman roots and lovely canals. Take a moment to check out the old town center or relax in one of its cozy cafes before the ride back—it’s a great cycling mini-adventure between two of Zuid-Holland’s gems!
