By bicycle from Salzburg to Anif

This ride takes you from the lively heart of Salzburg, famous for its stunning baroque architecture and being Mozart’s birthplace, to the peaceful village of Anif on Salzburg’s southern edge. The journey is a breezy 9 km, mixing urban scenery with a touch of countryside charm. The route is mostly flat with gentle rises, making it friendly even if you’re not a hill seeker. You’ll skirt along the Salzach River for part of the way—catch a glimpse of the Hohensalzburg Fortress before you leave the city behind. The finish in Anif is pretty idyllic: think mountain views and, if you have the time, check out the fairytale-like Anif Castle (well-known from The Sound of Music).
