Cycling day trip from Mörbisch am See to Illmitz

This route takes you on a relaxed ride from Mörbisch am See to Illmitz, right in the heart of Austria’s beautiful Burgenland wine country. You’ll start lakeside in Mörbisch, known for its charming lakeside promenade and open-air operetta festival, with the waters of Lake Neusiedl shimmering beside you.

The ride covers just under 54 km, but with gentle elevation changes – about 300 meters up and down – it’s manageable for most cyclists with a bit of stamina. The path is mostly paved and on dedicated cycleways, making it perfect for anyone seeking a smooth and safe journey through open vineyards and the unique steppe landscape of the National Park Neusiedler See-Seewinkel.
