Cycling day trip from Marchegg to Bratislava

This scenic ride starts in Marchegg, a quaint Austrian border town known for its castle and famous stork colony. Heading south-east, you’ll follow mostly quiet roads and the occasional gravel track as you cross into Slovakia. The route is almost 34 km, with a good mix of accent and descent (a total climb and drop each of about 550 meters), so expect some gentle hills along the way.

As you ride, you’ll pass through peaceful countryside and possibly spot wildlife in the Marchfeld wetlands. About 80% of the path is paved or asphalt, so your road bike will do fine; just watch for the sections of gravel that can get a bit bumpy.
