By bicycle from Lienz to Dölsach

Here’s a great little ride from the charming town of Lienz to Dölsach, just under 8.5 km apart and perfect if you want something scenic but not too demanding. You’ll start in Lienz, known as the “Pearl of the Dolomites,” with its stunning mountain backdrop and lively town center.

The route follows mostly asphalt and paved sections, cruising along cycleways and quiet roads for a relaxed vibe. You’ll gain a bit over 150 meters in elevation—enough to feel like you’ve earned a strudel at the end, but not so much you’ll wear yourself out! The ride winds through the lush East Tyrolean countryside, giving you plenty of mountain views and maybe a peek at the Drau River.

You’ll finish up in Dölsach, a small and peaceful place with roots stretching back to Roman times—check out Aguntum, an ancient Roman archaeological site nearby if you have time. A perfect little pedal for a morning spin or a leisurely afternoon!
