Cycling day trip from Braunau am Inn to Schärding

This scenic ride kicks off in Braunau am Inn, a charming Austrian border town best known as the birthplace of Adolf Hitler, but also for its lovely old town and picturesque setting on the Inn river. From there, you'll roll north-east towards Schärding, covering about 58 gentle kilometers, mostly on quiet roads and gravel tracks—perfect for a relaxed day out.

The route meanders through rolling farmland and alongside stretches of lush riverbank, with about 100 meters of gentle climbing and even more gentle descents—nothing too demanding. Expect to spend much of your time on paved and asphalt surfaces, but you’ll also hit a good amount of gravel, adding a bit of rustic adventure.

Schärding awaits at the finish, a small baroque town famed for its pastel-colored riverside square and cozy cafes—an ideal spot to recharge after your ride.
