By bicycle from Steglitz to Hansaviertel

This ride takes you from the leafy residential streets of Steglitz all the way up to the stylish mid-century Hansaviertel neighborhood. Steglitz, located in southwest Berlin, is known for its classic Berlin Altbau apartments and the lively shopping boulevard of Schlossstraße. Heading north, you’ll pedal along a mostly smooth and paved route (with a fair bit on classic Berlin paving stones—watch out when it’s wet!).

You’ll enjoy lots of stretches on proper cycleways, and quiet roads make most of the rest. The ride is gentle: barely any hills, so it’s ideal for a chill cruise or commuting. After about 10 km, you’ll arrive in the architecturally unique Hansaviertel, famous for its post-war International Building Exhibition homes and lovely proximity to Tiergarten park. A perfect route for a quick city escape or a sunny afternoon ride!
