By bicycle from Schwangau to Füssen

This lovely short bike route takes you from Schwangau to Füssen, covering just under 4 kilometers. Starting in Schwangau—home to the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle and surrounded by stunning mountain scenery—you’ll ride mostly on quiet roads and smooth paths, making it perfect for a relaxed outing.

The route is mostly asphalt and paved, with a gentle ascent at the start, so you’ll get some nice views as you pedal. It’s quiet pretty much the whole way, and you’ll only briefly encounter a busier stretch of road. As you cruise into Füssen, you’ll notice the charming old town vibe. Füssen is known for its beautiful medieval center and as the southern terminus of Germany’s famous Romantic Road.
