Cycling day trip from Rheinbach to Bonn

This is a lovely ride starting in Rheinbach, a charming town known for its glassmaking tradition and surrounded by gently rolling hills. Your route to Bonn is about 22.5 kilometers, mostly on smooth asphalt and quiet paths—great for an easygoing cycle. You’ll start at around 188 meters elevation and mostly coast your way down toward the Rhine, enjoying a gradual descent of 159 meters, so expect more freewheeling than climbing!

The route winds through pretty countryside, making up around two-thirds path and a good chunk on quiet roads, so it's quite peaceful. You’ll pass through scenic villages and patches of wooded areas before approaching lively Bonn—famous as Beethoven’s birthplace and a vibrant university city. With roughly 97% paved surfaces, it’s a very accessible ride for all levels.
