Cycling day trip from Plau am See to Waren

This scenic ride takes you from the charming lakeside town of Plau am See all the way to the resort town of Waren (Müritz)—the gateway to the stunning Müritz National Park. The route is about 59 km, mostly on nicely paved surfaces, with mild ups and downs (you’ll climb a little over 250 meters in total, but nothing too dramatic).

Setting off from Plau am See, enjoy views of the beautiful Plauer See (a popular spot for boating and swimming in summer). You’ll ride on a good mix of quiet paths and rural backroads—perfect for soaking up the fresh air and lush Mecklenburg countryside. As you near Waren, the landscape opens up with lakes and forest scenery; keep an eye out for cranes and eagles!
