By bicycle from Ostseebad Prerow to Born

This scenic cycling route takes you from the charming seaside town of Ostseebad Prerow to the peaceful village of Born, right in the heart of the beautiful Darß peninsula. Starting in Prerow, known for its relaxed beach vibes and historic thatched-roof houses, you’ll set off on mostly gravel and unpaved tracks (so a trekking or gravel bike is a good idea!).

The ride is about 11 km long and gently winds south through tranquil forests and coastal landscapes of the Nationalpark Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft. Expect the sound of birds, the scent of pine trees, and stretches where you barely see a soul.

After a bit of light climbing and descent—with hardly any serious hills—you’ll roll into Born, a cozy village with traditional fishermen’s houses and waterside views of the Bodden lagoon. Perfect for a coffee stop, or just soaking up the peaceful, laid-back atmosphere. This is a relaxed, nature-rich ride—ideal if you want to swap the bustle of the beach for the serenity of the woods and reed-fringed water.
