By bicycle from Ober-Ramstadt to Darmstadt

This cycling route takes you from the charming town of Ober-Ramstadt to the lively city of Darmstadt, covering just under 15 km. You’ll start your ride in Ober-Ramstadt, nestled in the rolling hills southeast of Darmstadt, known for its friendly community and picturesque half-timbered houses.

The journey is a pleasant mix of quiet country roads (over half the way!), tracks, and a little bit of cycleway, so you’ll mostly be away from busy traffic. About two-thirds of the route is paved or asphalt, while the rest will have you rolling over gravel and the occasional patch of loose gravel – nothing too tricky, but it’ll keep things interesting.

You’ll gently climb and descend as you make your way toward Darmstadt (the city known for its technical university and Jugendstil architecture!), enjoying almost 200 meters of ascent and a little more descent, so you’ll finish on a slight downhill. In just over an hour, depending on your pace, you’ll go from countryside calm to urban buzz. Perfect for an active day out!
