Cycling day trip from Münster to Dülmen

This relaxed ride takes you from the vibrant city of Münster to the quiet town of Dülmen, covering just over 35 km with only gentle climbs—so it’s perfect for most cyclists. Starting in Münster, famous for its bike-friendly streets, historic old town, and Germany’s most beautiful market square, you’ll quickly leave the bustle behind and find yourself pedaling through classic Westphalian countryside.

The route is almost entirely paved (over 98%), with long stretches of smooth asphalt and some quaint paving-stone sections as you pass through villages and farmland. Most of your journey follows dedicated bike paths and peaceful rural roads, so you won’t have to worry much about traffic.

After around 2–3 hours (depending on your pace and coffee stops!), you’ll roll into Dülmen, a charming town known for its wild horses and inviting town center. If you have time, swing by the Merfelder Bruch nature reserve just outside Dülmen to catch a glimpse of these unique animals.
