Cycling day trip from Höxter to Hamelin

This scenic ride starts in the charming town of Höxter, nestled on the banks of the Weser River and famous for the UNESCO-listed Corvey Abbey. From there, you’ll pedal north through picturesque Weserbergland countryside, enjoying mostly smooth, paved paths and a mix of quiet rural roads and forest tracks. There’s a fair bit of gentle climbing (just over 600 meters of ascent), so bring your climbing legs, but the rolling hills offer fantastic views along the way.

You’ll pass through a few quaint villages and plenty of lush greenery before arriving in Hamelin, the legendary town of the Pied Piper fairy tale. The old town’s timber-framed houses make for a perfect finish photo! At roughly 75 km, with a blend of comfortable surfaces and some short stony stretches, this route is best suited to a solid touring or gravel bike.
