By bicycle from Hinte to Emden

This relaxed 11 km ride takes you from the charming village of Hinte to the bustling port city of Emden. Starting in Hinte, you’ll pedal through the calm, flat landscapes of East Frisia—a perfect area for cycling, thanks to its scenic views and little traffic. The route is mostly on paved or asphalt paths, so your ride should be smooth, though keep an eye out for some stretches with paving stones or gravel.

As you approach Emden, you’ll notice the landscape becoming more urban. Emden itself is a historic city known for its maritime heritage and beautiful harbor, where you can grab a coffee by the water or visit the Otto Huus, a quirky museum to the famous German comedian Otto Waalkes. There’s very little climbing on this route, making it accessible for all levels and a great way to soak up the East Frisian atmosphere—windmills, cows, and big skies guaranteed!
