Cycling day trip from Heidenau to Radebeul

This ride takes you from Heidenau to Radebeul, covering just under 30 km on mostly smooth, paved surfaces. You’ll start in Heidenau, a charming town right on the Elbe River, well-known for its riverside promenades and relaxed vibe. From there, the route meanders north, following peaceful cycleways and quiet roads, with just a hint of gentle up and down—nothing too challenging.

Most of the way is on well-maintained asphalt, perfect for a relaxed cruise or a speedy spin. Along the route, you'll skirt the beautiful outskirts of Dresden, occasionally catching sight of the Elbe and passing through lush green scenery. After about two hours (depending on your pace), you’ll roll into Radebeul, famous for its vineyards and as the home of writer Karl May. It’s a great spot to finish, perhaps with a glass of local wine in hand!
