This cycling route takes you on a scenic ride from Haan to Wuppertal, covering just over 20 kilometers. Starting in the charming small town of Haan—sometimes called the “garden city” for its green spaces—you’ll head north and gently climb a total of 243 meters, which is enough to get your legs working but still totally doable for recreational cyclists.
The majority of the route follows quiet paths and roads, including a nice mix of paved surfaces and some sections of smooth asphalt, so you can expect a comfortable ride for most of the journey. About 70% of the route is paved, and busy roads are almost completely avoided, making this great for a relaxed outing or a commute.
Your destination, Wuppertal, is famous for its unique suspended monorail (“Schwebebahn”) and lush valleys. Once you roll into town, you’ll be rewarded with the opportunity to explore its parks or maybe grab a coffee in one of the city’s cozy cafés.
All in all, this route offers a pleasant and mostly tranquil ride through the North Rhine-Westphalia countryside—perfect for a weekend spin!
