This ride takes you from the pleasant little town of Haan to the historic city of Solingen – famous as the "City of Blades" for its long tradition of sword and knife making. The route’s a touch under 11 km, so it’s perfect for a leisurely afternoon outing.
You’ll start off in Haan, known for its charming old town and green surroundings. The ride mixes quiet roads and peaceful paths, so you won’t have to deal with much traffic. Most of the route is smooth pavement or asphalt, but keep an eye out for a bit of gravel and unpaved sections—nothing too wild, just enough to keep things interesting!
You’ll have a few gentle climbs (about 157 meters uphill), but the descents give you time to catch your breath. Solingen welcomes you at the end, where you can reward your effort with a visit to one of its cozy cafés or check out the renowned blade museum. All in all, it’s a scenic escape linking two distinct Rhineland gems!
