By bicycle from Düsseldorf to Erkrath

Set off from the heart of Düsseldorf and enjoy a leisurely ride east to Erkrath! This 13 km route keeps things relaxed, mainly sticking to paved surfaces and a pleasant mix of cycle paths and quiet roads—ideal for exploring without worrying about traffic. Düsseldorf, famous for its lively Altstadt and riverside promenade, makes a great starting point with plenty of cafés if you want to grab a quick coffee before you set off.

You’ll pedal out past some classic Rhineland suburbs, with just a gentle climb overall—about 40 meters of ascent, so nothing too daunting!
