By bicycle from Duisburg to Meiderich

Set off from central Duisburg and enjoy a leisurely ride north up to Meiderich! This roughly 7-kilometer route mingles both urban and green vibes. Duisburg, once famed for its steel industry and now for its lively Inner Harbor, is a cool spot to start—so maybe grab a coffee before you roll out.

Follow mostly paved paths winding alongside quiet roads and cycleways—perfect for a relaxed spin. Expect a mix of smooth asphalt and some stretches of old-school paving stones, with a little gravel thrown in to keep things interesting, especially around park areas.

You'll climb only gently, just over 27 meters total ascent, crossing some tree-lined stretches and dipping through green pockets typical of the Ruhr area. Arriving in Meiderich, you’ll be near the famous Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, a repurposed industrial site turned adventure park, great for a breather or a post-ride wander.

All in all: an easy city-to-neighborhood route with urban character, a few fun textures under your wheels, and plenty to see along the way.
