Cycling day trip from Cochem to Koblenz

This gorgeous cycling route takes you from the picturesque town of Cochem, perched on the banks of the Moselle river with its fairytale castle, all the way to the historic city of Koblenz, where the Moselle meets the mighty Rhine.

You'll cover roughly 65 km, following mostly paved paths and quiet roads, with a few gravel stretches and a lovely mix of riverside views, vineyard-clad hills, and charming wine villages along the way. Expect some climbing—almost 880 meters of ascent—but you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramas and, of course, some fun descents (over 900 meters of drop!).

Cochem is a gem, famous for its romantic old town and the towering Reichsburg castle. Koblenz, at the end, boasts the famous Deutsches Eck (“German Corner”) where the two rivers merge, as well as beautiful river promenades and plenty of spots to relax or grab a cold drink.
