Cycling day trip from Anklam to Seebad Heringsdorf

A relaxed island-to-coast ride! From Anklam, the birthplace of flight pioneer Otto Lilienthal (there’s a great museum if you’re into aviation), roll east across the Peene lowlands and onto Usedom. The route is mostly flat with gentle ripples (around 180 m up and down, max ~42 m) and about 90% paved, mixing cycle paths and quiet roads—perfect for touring bikes.

You’ll cruise through the Usedom Nature Park: open meadows, shady woods, and glints of the island’s inland lakes. Keep an eye out for cafés in village centers; a short detour can lead to moated manor vibes and good cake. With roughly 49 km to cover, it’s an easy day ride with plenty of photo stops.

Finish in Seebad Heringsdorf, one of the “Kaiserbäder,” famed for elegant resort architecture and its long pier stretching out into the Baltic. Kick off your shoes, grab an ice cream, and watch the waves roll in.
