By bicycle from La Teste-de-Buch to Arcachon

Here’s a lovely little ride that takes you from the heart of La Teste-de-Buch down to the seaside charm of Arcachon! Start out in La Teste-de-Buch, a laid-back town known for its famous oyster farms and proximity to the mighty Dune du Pilat (the tallest sand dune in Europe). The route winds gently northward, mostly along quiet roads and smooth cycleways, so you can really enjoy the scenery without worrying about traffic.

It’s a short spin—just over 4 km—so it’s perfect for a relaxed afternoon jaunt or a quick commute between towns. There’s a little bit of climbing (about 47 meters in total ascent), but nothing too taxing for most riders. Almost the entire way is on asphalt and good pavement, with a few short sections on different surfaces to keep things interesting.

You’ll finish up in Arcachon, a classic French seaside resort with sparkling bay views, sandy beaches, and plenty of cafés to reward yourself with a coffee or ice cream. A perfect ride for tasting salt in the air and soaking up the region’s easygoing coastal vibes!
