By bicycle from Sopron to Fertőrákos

Set off from the charming city of Sopron—known for its blend of medieval architecture and lively café culture—heading northeast toward the lakeside village of Fertőrákos. This ride covers just over 9 km, perfect for a relaxing exploration without breaking too much of a sweat. You’ll start with some gentle climbing, but there’s a rewarding descent as you approach Fertőrákos, nestled near Lake Fertő and famous for its ancient stone quarry and beautiful natural surroundings.

Expect varied surfaces: about a third of your ride is smooth gravel and unpaved paths, adding a bit of adventure, while some paved sections offer easy rolling. The route follows mostly quiet roads and dedicated cycleways, making for a laid-back experience with little traffic.
