By bicycle from Pákozd to Gárdony

Ready for a gentle ride? Starting in Pákozd, a village famous for its historic 1848 battlefield and cozy proximity to Lake Velence, you’ll meander your way to the lakefront town of Gárdony. The route is about 16 km long, mostly along smooth cycleways and quiet roads—perfect for a relaxing outing.

You’ll cruise through sweeping fields and rural scenery, barely noticing the gentle climbs and descents (nothing too strenuous—the elevation gain is only around 50 meters). Practically the entire route is on paved surfaces, so you can leave the mountain bike at home and enjoy the comfort.

As you get closer to Gárdony, one of Hungary’s favorite lakeside retreats, you’ll start catching glimpses of Lake Velence. When you arrive, reward yourself with a lakeside ice cream or even a dip in the water! This route is great for a laid-back day ride with friends or family.
