By bicycle from Budakalász to Szentendre

This scenic ride takes you from Budakalász to the charming riverside town of Szentendre, weaving along the Danube’s curve just north of Budapest. The route is super beginner-friendly, mostly flat with just a gentle climb here and there—expect less than 50 meters of ascent overall. You’ll roll along smooth asphalt for the majority of the way, with sections of paving stones and even a sprinkle of cobblestone to keep things interesting.

Starting out in Budakalász, a quiet suburb known for its green spaces and proximity to the famous Lupa Lake, you’ll quickly pick up a dedicated cycleway that makes up over half the journey. The path offers great river views and it’s generally a relaxing ride, ideal for a laid-back afternoon or a leisurely weekend adventure. The only “rough” spots are a very small portion with missing pavement—just enough to remind you you’re out for an adventure.
