By bicycle from Hodkovičky to Vysehrad

This route takes you from the peaceful residential neighborhood of Hodkovičky, nestled along the southern edge of Prague, straight up to the historic Vyšehrad fortress. It’s just about 9 km, making for a pleasant ride that’s long enough to stretch your legs but short enough to squeeze into a morning or afternoon.

You’ll start out on mostly quiet paved roads, with dedicated cycleways for a good chunk of the trip—ideal for a relaxed pace. There are a few gentle ups and downs, but overall it’s a gradual climb towards central Prague, with a fun descent along the way.

As you approach Vyšehrad, keep an eye out for a brief section of cobblestones and some charming old paving stones that add a bit of character. Arriving at Vyšehrad is a treat—this historic fortress offers sweeping views of Prague and the Vltava River, with lots of green spaces to catch your breath.
