Cycling day trip from Frymburk to Český Krumlov

This scenic ride takes you from the lakeside town of Frymburk to the enchanting medieval city of Český Krumlov. Starting in Frymburk, perched on the shores of Lipno Lake and popular for its laid-back vibe and water views, you’ll pedal through rolling South Bohemian hills dotted with forests and meadows. Expect plenty of paved surfaces (over 70%) with a good mix of quiet country roads and cycleways, but keep in mind there are a few gravel and unpaved sections—nothing too wild, but maybe bring a spare tube just in case.

The route packs in a respectable climb, topping out at just over 1000 meters elevation, but you’ll be rewarded with long, winding descents as you get closer to Český Krumlov. Arriving in Český Krumlov, you’ll find a UNESCO-listed Old Town, famous for its castle, picturesque river bends, and lively cafes.
