Cycling day trip from Sarria to Arzúa

Roll out from Sarria, one of the most popular starting points on the Camino de Santiago, and settle into a classic Galician ride: about 101 km with roughly 2,250 m of climbing and a max elevation around 806 m. It’s a constant rhythm of ups and downs through green hills, stone hamlets, and eucalyptus and oak groves.

The route favors tranquility: expect mostly quiet roads (about 80%) mixed with farm/forest tracks and a bit of gravel. A gravel bike or sturdy tires (35–40 mm) will keep things comfy. Services pop up regularly in villages, but carry water and a snack—weather here can turn misty and damp even in summer.
